Company History

In 1993, the company Infotech was founded in Ried im Innkreis, it is an IT system house, which became Internet Service Provider in 1996. To improve their service, Infotech took the responsibility in 2001 for building an own fiber network in Ried and its outskirts. Target group were business customers. When unbundling started also private households became Infotech's customers. Today, about 30,000 households can directly be reached.

The aim became clear very soon: Infotech will deliver Triple Play Services to Ried's population. The search for appropriate IPTV products to offer interactive TV was unsuccessful. Hence, Hans Kühberger, CEO of Infotech, started to develope an own IPTV solution in 2002. In December 2004 Ocilion IPTV Technologies was founded and since then Hans Kühberger and his team have been developing and selling the Ocilion Interactive IPTV Solution on the European Market. The IPTV network in Ried is Ocilion's reference network where new services are tested.
